Among 47 countries and territories with newly licensed investment projects in Vietnam in the first 5 months of 2022, Denmark, with only 3 projects, has become the largest investor pour nearly $ 1.32 billion intoVietnam, accounting for 32.1% of the total newly registered capital. Singapore ranked second with 798.4 million USD, accounting for 19.4%; China 505.3 million USD, accounting for 12.3%; Japan $ 428.7 million, accounting for 10.4% and Taiwan $ 296.5 million, accounting for 7.2%.
Denmark’s FDI capital mainly comes from the $1 billion factory project of LEGO Group (manufacturing toys) and the $100 million factory project of Pandora Jewelry Group. Both these large corporations have chosen to invest in VSIP 3 Industrial Park, Binh Duong province and announced that their factories will use completely renewable energy.

Singapore
Ranked second after Denmark in terms of newly registered FDI capital into Vietnam is Singapore. Investment projects of Singaporean enterprises in Vietnam in the first 5 months of the year concentrated most in the fields of processing and manufacturing industry (706 projects); real estate business (190 projects); and power generation sector (42 projects).
Singapore has now invested in 51/63 provinces and cities of Vietnam. Among them, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Binh Duong are respectively are 3 leading localities in Singapore investment capital as of April 2022. In which, the total capital invested by Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City is 11.8 billion USD, in Hanoi is over 7.87 billion USD and in Binh Duong is 5.4 billion USD. Following are the provinces of Bac Ninh, Long An, Quang Nam, respectively.
Korea – China – Japan

Industries that attract the most FDI
The processing and manufacturing industry has always taken the lead, accounting for 58.2% of the total registered investment capital. The second is the real estate business, accounting for 25.6% of the total registered investment capital. Binh Duong, Bac Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City was the 3 most attractive destinations for FDI in the first 5 months of the year.
TAs of May 20, 2022, FDI projects were estimated to disburse USD 7.71 billion, an increase of 7.8% compared with the same period in 2021. Thus, after the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic Vietnam is recovering quite quickly and receiving many positive signals in attracting foreign direct investment.
